General
These Disclaimers apply to the Argus platform operated by Argus Vision, Inc. (“Argus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and form part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The information and outputs the Service provides are offered for general informational and operational purposes and are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.
No Professional Advice
Nothing in the Service, our documentation, or our communications constitutes legal, regulatory, security, or compliance advice. The materials we provide, including any templates or guidance regarding notices or consents, are for general information only and may not be appropriate for your circumstances. You should consult your own qualified legal counsel and advisors regarding your obligations.
The same goes for money and for people. Argus does not provide accounting, bookkeeping, tax, financial, insurance, or employment advice. Figures the Service produces are not audited, are not prepared to any accounting standard, and are not a substitute for an accountant, a bookkeeper, a tax adviser, or an employment lawyer. Convenience stores carry excise obligations on fuel, tobacco, alcohol, and lottery, and employment rules differ by state and sometimes by city. Getting those right, and keeping the records that prove it, is yours.
This applies to anyone who reads an Argus figure, not only to you. If you show a report to a lender, a franchisor, a supplier, an insurer, or a buyer, they are not entitled to rely on it either.
AI and Detection Accuracy
The Service uses computer-vision and AI agents to analyze camera and register streams. These detections are probabilistic and may produce false positives and false negatives. Detection performance can vary with camera placement, lighting, occlusion, image quality, and other conditions outside our control.
Outputs of the Service are assistive and must be confirmed by a qualified human before any action is taken. The Service is not a substitute for trained staff, professional security personnel, or sound operational judgment, and it should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any employment, security, law-enforcement, or other consequential decision.
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Argus does not guarantee any particular result from use of the Service. We make no guarantee that the Service will prevent theft, shrink, fraud, or loss, or that it will achieve any specific return on investment, accuracy rate, detection rate, or other performance metric. Any examples, projections, or benchmarks are illustrative only and are not promises of future results.
Not an Alarm or Monitoring Service
Argus is not an alarm system, a burglar alarm, a life-safety system, or a monitored security service, and is not offered or licensed as one under any state alarm or private security law. No Argus employee or contractor watches your camera feeds for you. We do not staff a monitoring centre, and we do not contact, notify, or dispatch police, fire, medical, or any other emergency service on your behalf. Deciding whether an event warrants a call to the authorities is yours alone.
The Service detects and notifies. It does not intervene, deter, prevent, or minimise theft, violence, injury, or any other event, and it should not be purchased or relied on as a substitute for staffing, physical security measures, an alarm system, or insurance.
Alert Delivery
Alerts reach you over networks we do not control, including mobile carriers, the public internet, and third-party email providers. We cannot guarantee that any alert will be delivered, delivered intact, or delivered promptly. Alerts may be delayed, throttled, filtered as spam, blocked by a carrier, or lost. You are responsible for keeping the phone numbers and email addresses on your notification list current, and for having a way to run your store that does not depend on an alert arriving.
Beta Software
The Service is currently offered as a private beta. It may contain features that are incomplete, experimental, or subject to change or removal, and it may not operate as intended. Beta functionality, usage limits, and pricing are provisional and may change at any time. You should not rely on beta features for critical operations without appropriate human oversight and contingency measures.
Surveillance and Privacy Compliance Is Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the lawful operation of cameras, microphones, registers, and recording equipment that you connect to the Service. This includes providing any legally required surveillance and monitoring notices, obtaining any consents required by law, and complying with all applicable surveillance, audio-recording, wiretap, biometric, privacy, and employee-monitoring laws in every jurisdiction in which you operate.
Argus does not assume responsibility for your compliance with these laws, and the Service does not, by itself, satisfy any notice or consent obligation. Please review the customer-responsibility provisions in our Terms of Service and the Video, Biometric, and Surveillance Notice in our Privacy Policy.
Metrics and Estimates
Counts, scores, analytics, savings figures, and other metrics presented in the Service are estimates derived from automated processing and the data available to the Service. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed, and they should be independently verified before being used for financial, operational, or reporting purposes.
Third-Party Content
The Service may include or link to content, products, or services provided by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, and the inclusion of any link or integration does not imply our endorsement. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and policies.
